Startup Pirates @ Lisboa, in its own rebellious way, gives you an informal and creative environment to learn about several topics that will help you bring ideas to life. We have a hands-on program where you can learn by doing. In this 8-day event, you can expect to acquire the knowledge you need to venture into launching a startup directly. Renowned speakers and mentors will discuss all subjects regarding the foundations of a startup with you and your team. You’ll also have your creativity and focus stimulated and your ability to work in a strong group and pitch an idea will be tested.
By attending Startup Pirates @ Lisboa you will meet other people just like you, fearless Pirates who look forward to changing the world. Who knows if you will build partnerships here, meet a co-founder or even get some investment?
Ultimately, you’ll have the opportunity to see a new place, a new town or even a new country. And yes, you need not worry, Startup Pirates is not only about work. We also want you to have fun! With that said, you’ll also have leisure time in the program, planned to stimulate your focus, imagination and spirit.

Facts & Numbers
Startup Pirates was developed to draw people away from their comfort zone and make them think outside the box. Our goal is to be an incentive to boost entrepreneurship and creativity.
It’s an experience where participants have the opportunity to pitch an idea and access the tools to develop it into a business until the final presentation in front of a fantastic jury panel. This week is all about critical thinking, learning, creativity and making things happen.
So far we’ve had a total of:
- 60 awesome pirates from 13 countries;
- 56 initial ideas;
- 18 final projects;
- 18 workshops;
- 10 entrepreneur talks;
- 46 mentors;
- 37 speakers.
